Normandy Holiday Cottages Latest Information
La Forge has been sold.
by La Forge on 08/03/22Dear all,
After 18 years of owning La Forge we sold it last week to a fabulous French couple from the Champagne region.
They immediately saw the potential of this lovely old building and will make it their home. We wish them every happiness.
Special thanks must go to Regis, our estate agent, at Immobilier du Coin, for his tremendous help in making it possible for us to navigate the complexities of selling a home in France. There was enough red tape to circle the globe 14 times!
I am sure you will join us in remembering all the fun times at La Forge, including the four summer festivals. Thank you so much to everybody who supported us during those wonderful years.

Holiday Bookings 2021 On Hold
by La Forge on 04/01/21Bonjour tout le monde!
We will not be in a position to offer holidays at La Forge during 2021 unless there are dramatic changes in the level and spread of Coronavirus in France.
It has not been possible for us to travel to France this year because of current restrictions so we are not able to guarantee that the property is in good order for visitors. The last thing we want to do is disappoint anybody who wants to stay at La Forge but we feel it is the most sensible option, all things considered, to put holiday bookings on hold; particularly as a large proportion of people staying with us travel from outside of France.
We want to finish this announcement on a high note by saying that we will be back in action as soon as it is safe to cross to France, so watch this space for details of our future plans.
In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy your 'staycation' wherever you are!
Meilleurs voeux!

Holiday Booking Update 2021
by La Forge on 10/27/20Bonjour tout le monde...
We hope that you have all remained safe and well.
Our latest plan is to be able to offer holidays from the 3rd April 2021. This will give us the opportunity of getting La Forge up and running again after the enforced closure suffered for the whole of 2020. Like everybody we have found it really difficult to miss out on breaks away and for us it's been doubly frustrating knowing that La Forge has sat there empty for a whole holiday season. A visit to beautiful France has been nothing but a distant dream.
In line with the plan to reopen we have updated the website and also our advertisement with Holiday France Direct.
We hope you have the confidence to book with us and Brittany Ferries for a small deposit. We will always return the deposit if cancellations have to be made due to continued problems concerning the pandemic. Otherwise, we would be happy to move holidays to safer dates later in the year or the following year.
If you have any questions about 2021 bookings then please feel free to make contact via andy@le-plessis-lastelle.com.
Merci beaucoup for your continued support!

Post Pandemic Update
by La Forge on 06/24/20We hope that you are well and are continuing to remain safe and healthy.
The UK Government lifted the travel ban to France and Brittany Ferries is running services again. Their advice is that they have made many safety adjustments to their vessels and that they believe they can keep passengers safe and suitably socially distanced by reducing numbers.
Unfortunately we are not in a position to be able to offer La Forge for holiday rental until next year. We think that the general situation is still quite volatile with the strong possibility that local spikes will continue to occur in France and the UK. Frankly we don't feel that we can operate safely until matters are brought under better control.
In the meantime we have rescheduled booked holidays to 2021 in line with customer wishes. On that note we can now take holiday bookings for next year from the second week in February 2021. We will keep our holiday tariffs the same so hopefully once you start thinking about getting away to France again you will feel confident to book through us directly or through Holiday France Direct.
La Forge is remote and on the outskirts of a small village so it is ideal for a break away from crowded places. The nearby beaches are also virtually free of people and have vast open spaces.
Please contact us if you have any questions regarding booking a break with us. We know the local area very well having spent nearly 15 years of happy holidays here.
Meilleurs voeux (Best wishes)

Covid-19 Global Pandemic
by La Forge on 04/21/20
Unfortunately we are not able to take any bookings until we know it is safe to travel again. At the moment it is difficult to see when the lockdowns in France and England will be relaxed and society begins to return to normal.
We are hopeful that travel restrictions will be lifted towards the end of July but this depends upon a great deal of different factors, nearly all of which are out of our control.
For anybody that has a holiday booked with us later in the year we are deferring any decisions until the position becomes clear.
Just a quick note on Brittany Ferries. In our experience you will receive a full refund in the form of a voucher as long as it is Brittany Ferries that makes the cancellation. If you make the cancellation yourself Brittany Ferries will deduct your deposit and send you a voucher for the balance. Another option is that you can change the date of travel to later in the year or to next year. If you were to choose the latter option then we would be happy to mirror those changes.
Thankfully we have a presence at La Forge so the garden and the maintenance will still be regularly attended.
Please stay safe and as risk free as possible. And hopefully we'll see you all again once all this is over.
BONNE CHANCE A TOUT LE MONDE!
(Good luck everybody!)
